What is Web Design?

Web design refers to the creation of websites that are presented on the internet. It mainly refers to the user experience aspects of website creation rather than programme development. Web design used to be centered on developing websites for desktop browsers; but, since the mid-2010s, design for mobile and tablet browsers has become increasingly significant.

A web designer is someone who works on the look, layout, and, in certain situations, content of a website. For example, appearance refers to the colors, typography, and images utilized. The layout of shared knowledge to how it is organized and categorized. A good web design is simple to use, aesthetically pleasing, and appropriate for the website’s user group and brand. Many websites are designed with a focus on simplicity in mind, so that no unnecessary content or functionality that may distract or confuse users appears. Because the keystone of a web designer’s work is a site that wins and fosters the trust of the target audience, removing as many potential areas of user frustration as possible is crucial.

The most popular techniques for creating websites that function well on desktop and mobile devices are adaptive and responsive design. In responsive design, content moves dynamically depending on screen size; in adaptive design, website content is fixed in layout sizes that match common screen sizes.

A layout that is as consistent as possible across devices is essential to preserving user engagement and trust. Because responsive design can be challenging in this regard, designers must exercise caution when giving up control over how their work appears. While they may need to broaden their skill set if they are also in charge of the content, they will benefit from having complete control over the finished product.
